Sunset at the Don CeSar

There is just something romantic about anything old Florida captured on film.

I recently found my grandfather’s old Pentax (the camera he bought just before I was born) in good working condition. As Courtney and I were expecting our first born, Eloise Frances (named after the same grandfather, Francis), I thought now would be a perfect time to run some rolls through it. I tried to capture as many special moments of our lives B.E. (Before Eloise) as I could.

One of these moments was sunset and “drinks” (grapefruit juice) at the Don CeSar. We are fortunate to live close to the Don CeSar and love driving over to catch a quick sunset after work. Since our due date was about a week away, we figured we’d better go enjoy one last sunset just Courtney and I (although the joke was on us because Eloise was about two weeks late). As the sun was setting on the horizon, I couldn’t help but feel like the sun was setting on a season of our life, and that a new and exciting one was just about to dawn.
